"Behind this incredible obsession with abstractions and statistics there are these individual human predicaments, and it's as if the world and its negotiations just can't focus on the human reality."

- Stephen Lewis, UN Special Envoy for HIV/AIDS in Africa

More than 28 million sub-Saharan Africans are infected with HIV/AIDS, 2.3 million died in 2001. 3.4 million more were infected.

The disease has orphaned millions of African children, 500,000 living in Zambia alone. Millions more will lose parents unless heroic efforts are undertaken.

Through PhotoSensitive, I have travelled to Zambia, Lesotho, Mozambique and Ethiopia in pursuit of this, perhaps the most important story of our time. I plan more trips to Africa to continue this work.
